Operates on a number of Sundays in summer between Rorschach Heifen (RHB) and Heiden (7.0 Km).

 

Dampfbahn uber den Brunig BDB

Locomotives: G3/4 208 HG3/3 1067 HG3/3 1068

Operates on Sundays between July and September from Interlaken Ost to Giswil. 208 is non-rack fitted and works between Interlaken and Meiringen (28.7 Km) whilst 1067 takes the train over the Brunig pass and on to Giswil (16.2 Km). 1068 is under restoration at Interlaken.

Operates daily from 13 May until 24 October (reduced service until 4 June). Rack railway runs between Brienz (connection to Zentralbahn) and the summit of the Rothorn at 1678 m (7.6 Km).

Operates weekends May to October and Thu/Fri afternoons July-August.

The largest collection of heritage locos and vehicles in Switzerland, operates from Blonay to Chambly (2.95 Km). There is a large depot and museum at Chamby.

Also operates into Vevey (an extra 5.72 Km) on a number of Sundays in summer (see calender).

Operates on a number of Sundays from May to September. Runs along the freight line between Mendrisio and Malante (Italy) (12.6 Km). In 2010 trains should be hauled by “Tigerli” 8463.

Based in the depot at Burgdorf, run a number of excursions throughout the year and from 2010 are also operating the Museumsbahn Emmental along with VHE.

 

Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke DFB

Also a number of tractors and ex FO HGe4/4 16.

Runs between Gletsch and Realp (17.7 Km) over the Furka pass. The line passes the Rhone glacier and climbs to 2160 M above sea level. In 2010 the line will be extended through to Oberwald. Runs Fri-Sun, June to October and daily during June and August. This line is very popular and advance reservation is recommended before travelling.

 

Lausanne Echallens Bercher LEB

Steam loco G3/3 8 is preserved and operates between Cheseaux and Bercher (15.5 Km) on a number of Sundays throughout the year.

Operates on a number of dates throughout the summer on the Chemin de fur du Jura network using two, meter gauge steam locos from Portugal (CP).

 

Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn MGB

Preserved steam loco HG2/3 7 operates between Brig and Oberwald (40.7 Km) on a number of Sundays throughout the summer.

 

Verein Historische Mittel-Thurgau-Bahn MThB

Owners of Ed3/5 3 based at Locorama in Romanshorn. Operates a number of tours each year and trains to Singen in partnership with VES.

 

Baumschulbahn SchBB

Website

600mm gauge railway in a garden centre close to Basel, approx. 3Km in length. Operates every weekend April-September.

Has a large collection of steam and diesel locomotives, only those which are former capital stock are listed.

A private railway running from Sursee on the Olten-Luzern mainline to Sursee 8.9 Km), Operates mostly private events but also a couple of public days each year, the main event being the last weekend in September when both “Tigerlis” are usually in action.
